Hysterical Injury - Our Lives Are A Futuristic Nightmare

Hysterical Injury are a noise-pop duo comprising of Lee Stone on drums, and Annie gardiner on Bass and Voice. Formed originally as a three-piece, they stripped down to a duo in 2008 and have been making waves in the underground since, appreciated by press and fans alike.
This being the first recording of the Bath-based duo, it's an energetic mix of clattering drums, frantic bass, feedback and sweet pop. Annies vocals provide the perfect contrast to the chaotic sound, her fuzzed-out bass locking into some tight grooves with Lee's hyperactive style of playing.
However manic things get, the songs are surprisingly melodic, with enough harmony and pop-sensibilities to set themselves apart from contempories Om and Lightning Bolt, the latter of which they cite as a major influence on their own sound.
Expect to hear more from these guys in the near future, highly recommended for those into Lightning Bolt, L7, Death From Above 1979 and the like.
