Walking in the Flesh
Maybe non-intentionally shying away from the UK metal scene in favour of his own dark, forboding vision might have been the best idea Avi Ruin came up with when he dreamt up the monster that is now apparent on ‘Walking In the Flesh.’ With an anticipation level that caused CeDigest to shoot up several music charts, and recommendations from a multitude of alternative, musical acts it is hard to believe that ‘Walking In the Flesh’ is the act's first proper stab at the mainstream industrial market.
Ranging from the graphic and brutally malevolent ‘Evil Returns,’ to the almost Chris Vrenna-tinged ‘Abattoir,’ the well placed and violent soundscapes make it very easy to compare to other acts such as Psyclon Nine and Die Sektor, but digging deeper reveals a visceral and disturbing Pandora’s box of well-placed and up-tempo breaks with the sinister edge that give CeDigest the creative edge that these well-established acts seem to lack.
Filled with surprises such as the almost insatiably sadistic ‘Bound,’ and ‘Displaying the Wounds,’ only proves to cement the disgusting sense of forboding that follows this release’s last dying seconds. Noitekk took far too long to get this out into the world, but now it seems the torment will begin.
