Three years after these death metal titans released their last album to much acclaim, it has been with great anticipation that ‘Majesty & Decay’ has been expected.
Immolation are not a band that ever disappoints and this offering ticks all the right boxes, from pummelling heaviness to the complexity and innovative riff structures that set them leagues above their peers.
Tracks such as ‘Divine Code’ bring about the Immolation's own unique way of blending technicality, without losing any sense of structure, and the off-the-wall guitar solos that just amplify the exceptional standards this band can meet. Ross Dolan’s vocals are deep and full of energy but pretty easy to understand as far as death metal goes.
The production is fresh and crisp and the overall tone reeks of brutality but there are moments that make hairs stand on end as there is just something conveyed through this album that is so enthralling.
Another classic album from Immolation to add to the catalogue, it seems almost inconceivable that this band could actually release anything that wasn’t a masterpiece!
