Originally formed in 1996, all-rounded French metallers, Destinity, are back with yet another album and another sound. Previously categorised as a black metal band and later ‘deathening’ up their approach, they have now found their standing-ground by crafting together (well), an aggressive yet melodic blend of catchy death metal (otherwise known as ‘melodeath’). More complex than most pinned under the same genre, ‘XI Reasons to See’ will without-a-doubt help Destinity to fly over the norm barrier. With an appropriately emphasised mix of keyboards and orchestral symphonies, they have clearly pushed themselves that little further in terms of technicality and diversity, creating a new dynamic to their music. A lot of passion and thought has clearly been put into writing this new album.

With production values exact for their sound, ‘XI Reasons to See’, touches all aspects of the Gothenburg metal scene, containing the intensity of At The Gates, and the tenderness of In Flames. With hit tracks including ‘Just Before…’, ‘To Touch The Ground’ and ‘Got Smile Sticking’, Destinity are sure to get higher recognition for their latest effort. Despite ‘XI Reasons to See’ being a definite highlight in Destinity’s career so far, there will surely be more unexpected madness to come with their next release.
