Set 600 years in the future (as a concept release), ‘Exiled to Earth’ is the attitude-filled second album by Californian mosh turtles, Bonded by Blood. Opening the album with a killer acoustic brainshock, it’s apparent that they have deviated away from their debut release, ‘Feed the Beast’. The pizza eating 5-piece have upped the dosage on their signature groove segments and have clearly put a twist onto the organisation of the new tracks. With such notables as ‘600 AB (After the Bombs)’, ‘Episodes of Aggression’ and ‘Desolate Future’ taking on board a darker, in depth approach, it has partially left their ear bending riffs and ferocious speed in a similar position to Evile’s ‘Infected Nations’. Even with the undeniable comparisons to the likes of Exodus and Overkill, a new side has shone through with Bonded by Blood’s latest release – and by no means is that a negative thing.
Still able to shred your face off, ‘Exiled to Earth’ is a definite listen for any thrash lunatic craving for that stable 80’s sound.
