Resurgency – Dark Revival
Where Despair Dominates
Dark Revival
Psychosis
Atmosphere in Chaos
Lesser known bands have always needed to show on their first offering that they're to be taken on a serious note. Gone are the yesteryears where first demos have catapulted countless bands into super stardom. The new generation of death metal has taken a beating and breaking through is becoming more and more difficult by the day. Resurgency who hail from Athens, Greece and consists of members from long standing underground death metal bands like Inveracity and Stagnate might be a band with the proper support that could break the mould.
Their 2010 Demo ‘Dark Revival’ shows that even a self-produced demo could sound like a million pounds has been poured into the production. The drums come to mind first and foremost, a math like precision is used throughout the album, with the integration of the bass to make a heavy 1000 tonne-like sound. ‘Psychosis’ will tinker the senses towards believing that the boys from Greece have been possessed by a 1991 version of bands like Brutality and Grave. It’s good to hear newer bands that are ready to follow the trial of death that established bands from the early 90’s perfected.
Look for Resurgency in the coming future to attack the ears of the metal masses, where all will be able to enjoy another great addition to the death metal community.
