BLESSED BY A BROKEN HEART – FEEL THE POWER (8)

Regardless of the shame that comes with not knowing who Blessed By A Broken Heart are, there are still certain entities in the universe that hint at this band's obscurity that even 2008’s belter ‘Pedal To The Metal’ could not shake off. Now including Brit Sam Ryder in their roster, this Anglo-Canadian outfit’s latest offering still smashes us with all the luscious elements that made them such a joy to spin originally. With a generous measure of bittersweet sentiment freshly added to the mix, frontman Tony Gambino leads the sum of these electrifying parts in typically explosive, raspy-throated style.

Such sentiment is mainlined in hook-heavy opener ‘Deathwish.’ Dealing with parental drug addiction, it is cleverly emphasised with a rowdy, fist-thrusting chorus and gives a breathless enjambment to the raucous and rightfully named ‘Shut Up And Rock.’ BBABH have become known for mixing up the abilities of their members, and ‘Forever’ is no different and challenges you not to start warbling along with the flourishing partnership of Sam Ryder and Sean ‘Shred’ Maier leading the way.

With ‘Feel the Power’ being true to its title in every respect, it’s difficult to imagine how this band have not yet poked their head into the mainstream. Still cranking out quality tunes, and still making it obvious that they are enjoying every minute of it, BBABH should soon be ranking high with critics across globe.
