Another year and finally after a few unavoidable hiccups, Kentish Town is prepared to play host to another Slayer show.
Opening tonight is swedish thrash monsters The Haunted and Dolving looks admirably enthrusiastic as they play a corking rendition of 'Dark Intentions'. The thing about The Haunted is that no matter whether you think they've got it or ever had it, the show they put on is as genuine as ever.
Much like every other time Slayer play, the atmosphere is palapable and every red blooded, chest-beating male is screaming "Slayer" as if it's some kind of war cry. To a rapturous crowd the thundering of 'World Painted Blood' rings out with violent force. However, it's not a proper Slayer show unless someone's stretchered out by paramedics (we hope they make a speedy recovery). Gracefully, the crowd and band are accomodating but it does eat into tonight's setlist. With 'Raining Blood' closing proceedings as quickly as they begun. Slaayyyyyyeeerrrr.
